I cannot find instructions on how to do this safely.

    I suspect you're seeking this. Perhaps even going from individual to family? :)

    Change your 1Password account type

    If you started your subscription with an in-app purchase, you won’t be able to change your account type yourself. Contact 1Password Support.

    tl;dr

    Assuming I'm on the right path above you'll need to cancel the in-app subscription through the App Store. This is billing related only. No data will be harmed. Do not remove any applications from your devices. Again, this would be billing related only.

    When you're ready please email us using support+forum@1password.com. Be sure to use the email address tied to the account in question as we'll need to make some changes on our side. We do not have access to account specifics in the community.
