Extension updates for Microsoft Edge

I was greeted with a 1Password update on my Windows PC today: 8.10.44. In the Release Notes I see "We’re excited to share that we’ve updated the release number formatting for the 1Password browser extension!" And indeed if I check the release notes for 1Password in the Browser:

It shows the latest version is 8.10.44 instead of 2.27.1 since Sept 3.

However both in Firefox and in Edge, I still see 2.27.1 today (Sept 5). Are the Firefox and Edge extensions updates not yet released then?

    Hello @jorik! 👋

    Thank you for reaching out! The submission and review process for each browser's web store is different and you might see versions make it to certain browsers faster than others.

    Currently, 2.27.1 is the latest version available in the Firefox and Microsoft Edge web stores but hopefully the new update is released there soon. If you're using Edge then you can also install 1Password from the Chrome web store if you wish.

    Hi,

    A few days ago, the new version numbering was released aligning the extension to the main 1Password app branch.

    About Google Chrome, the extension was updated to version 8 on September the 5th, while on Microsoft Edge is stuck at version 2.27.1.

    Is it a Microsoft issue to be taking so long to update the extension?

    The latest version of 1Password in the browser (8.10.44.34) is now available for Firefox. You can find instructions on how to update here: How to keep 1Password up to date in your browser

    2.27.1 is the latest version of 1Password for Edge at the time of writing. We're working with our friends at Microsoft to release the next update as soon as possible. If you're using Edge then you can also install 1Password from the Chrome web store if you wish.

    Thank you for confirming that you're now able to download 1Password in the browser version 8.10.44.34 from the Edge Add-ons store. 🙂
