Is it possible to disable autologin after autofill for specific entries?

I like the feature, but it breaks for certain websites (or put another way, these websites are broken when using password managers).

  • Hello @snappy! 👋

I'm sorry that autosubmit is running into issues on a few websites. You can turn it off for specific websites by following these steps:

    1. In your browser, click on the 1Password icon in your browser's toolbar.
    2. Find and click on a login item.
    3. Click on the three dots in the upper right corner of the item's details and then click "Don't sign in automatically".

Are you able to provide the website addresses of the pages where you're running into issues? I can also file reports with the team to have those investigate further.

Thanks @Dave_1P that worked a treat.

The offending website is Bank of Melbourne. They are hostile to password managers and have even gone to say that using a password manager may violate their terms & conditions, see https://1password.community/discussion/comment/322555/#Comment_322555 .

  • @snappy,

On behalf of Dave, you're very welcome. I'm glad to hear that worked.

So that I can submit an issue to our development team, may I ask what exactly happens when using the Autosubmit feature with 1Password? Any information you could share is helpful.

There's 3 fields Bank of Melbourne require for login.

    username / access-number
    securityNumber
    password

The problem is actually autofill - the securityNumber field is actively being overwritten by some kind of hook in their website so that it can't be autofilled by password managers. It needs to be input manually - and unfortunately mac version of 1p doesn't have autotype. When you use autosubmit, it autofills the fields, and clicks submit, but doesn't proceed because the securityNumber is not properly filled.

  • @snappy,

Thank you for the additional details. I've created an issue for our development team to look further into and determine if we can make some improvements to the way 1Password interprets this specific site.

I hope that helps. Let me know if there's anything else I can help you with.
