New item in browser extension opens 1p web page without access to vault

Recently the 1P browser extension (in Safari) is opening 1password.com in a new tab unexpectedly. For example:
1. Click 1P icon in Safari toolbar
2. Click [+ New Item]
3. Click [Login]
Expected behavior: New item entry dialog in 1P popover OR in separate window OR in 1P Application.
Actual: New tab opens to my.1password.com. After login, it does offer to create an item, not that I wanted to create it in a webpage over the internet. And I don't have access to my company vaults so I can't save the item where I need to.

Extension Version: 2.27.1
OS Version: 14.6.1

    I'm sorry that you're running into trouble when editing an item from the browser extension. We recently released a new update to 1Password for Safari where we’ve fixed app integration. If you haven't updated yet then follow the steps in this guide (which will also tell you how to keep automatic updates turned on):

    If you still have trouble using 1Password for Safari after updating to version 8.10.44 then please let me know.

    Thank Dave, that seems to have fixed the issue, and new items are enterable in 1Password app again. Even better, the extension seems to be working with my Safari profiles. Hope that keeps working.
