Feature Request: "Add URL to Entry" menu shortcut/command

I frequently have entries that are missing a URL where the credential is associated. I would like a command/shortcut to:

  • in a browser, from a URL not in an entry/not mapping to the correct entry,
  • hit Cmd-\ / Ctrl-\ or click 1P icon,
  • search for the correct entry that should be mapped to the URL,
  • be able to right-click or hit the '...' menu
  • have an item to "add current URL to this entry"

This would hopefully prevent me from having to manually edit entries like this:
like this every time I hit a new URL not already associated.

  • Hello @jth! 👋

Thank you for the suggestion! I've shared it with the team and they'll look into adding such functionality to 1Password in the future.

1Password maintains a shared credentials list to keep track of different domains using the same login system in order to avoid issues like flagging a reused password that isn't actually being reused across multiple login systems. Items that share credentials should be suggested on all relevant websites. For example, if you save a login item with just disney.com, that login item will be suggested on hulu.com since 1Password is aware that both of these websites share the same credentials.

This means that it's not necessary to add every URL to your login item, just disney.com will work for your example. 🙂

Thanks @Dave_1P, perhaps that's new functionality since that item was created, but I've had to add those domains because the credential wasn't being shortlisted in the past. Looking forward to encountering that situation less in the future!

  • Thanks again for the feedback! 🙂
