feature request: add ability to save an entry as a template

I used a lot of custom templates in my old password manager, and am frustrated with 1password's inability to add custom categories and templates. My workaround was to create a new "Logins" category entry, customize the fields to my liking, and saving it with the title ! Login Template so that it would be easy to find at the top of the vault. The only problem is that when you go to duplicate it so you can use it for a new thing, it automatically creates a literal duplicate with a warning of two entries with the same title instead of first giving you the ability to edit the title before creating the duplicate. I also had to save these "templates" in a new vault I called "Z Filtered from Chrome" just so I can filter these out in my Chrome settings for the vaults to use when autofilling.
If it's not possible to save an entry as a template, then please at least add the ability to change the title when creating a duplicate. Thanks.

    Hello @dmveron! 👋

At the moment 1Password doesn't offer the ability to add custom templates although this is an often requested feature. I've filed your feature request with our team internally so that the team is aware that this is something that you'd like to see.

Saving an item like you described doing and duplicating it would be the workaround that I was going to suggest in the meantime.

If it's not possible to save an entry as a template, then please at least add the ability to change the title when creating a duplicate.

The duplicate feature creates a perfect copy of the item, you can then choose either duplicate to edit and use going forward.

Thanks Dave. I think the intermediate feature request would be adding the option to create a duplicate that is not a perfect copy of the original. If you edit the wrong duplicate, you can mess up the linked records. Usually the duplicate is always listed under the original, but the workflow would be much easier if you right-click to duplicate and there's a prompt to change the title for the new duplicate. I can't imagine any scenario where a user would want or need two records with the exact same title. Thanks!

I've share that feedback with the team in the original request that Dave created for you.
