Auto-Login setting enabled with each update

For the fourth time now, 1password chrome extension logs me in automatically, showing a popup that the autologin is active.
Is this a known issue?

I keep disabling the setting, but the extension won't remember for long.

Also, the setting is not synchronized with my google profile. Every other extension has the same settings on all my computers. Only the auto login is enabled on all my computers and has to be disabled manually and regularly.

mac+windows, chrome, since the introduction of auto login across multiple versions.
Had to turn it off today.

  • Hello @philipphfp! 👋

I'm sorry that you're seeing a setting being re-enabled after an update, that definitely shouldn't be happening. So that I can better understand the situation can you tell me the following:

    1. Is it the "Sign in automatically after autofill" that is being re-enabled?
    2. Does the issue only happen after a new update to the 1Password browser extension? Or does it happen randomly?
    3. Do you use any app/browser cleaners that might be interfering with 1Password's support files?

I look forward to hearing from you.

So, I observed the issue and found, that it might be random.

Yes, it is just the setting to sign in automatically after autofill.

This week I was using the 1Password extension in Chrome on Mac and on Windows.
On both platforms, I updated to the latest version of Chrome and the Extension.
The setting was disabled. I was using the browser and autofill mutliple times throughout the day.

I did not close the browser yesterday and put the computer to sleep.
Today, first thing in the morning I wake up the computer and want to login to a company website and voila: the 1Password extension logs in automatically. I check the settings, and it got enabled again.

The last time I checked all versions, and it is still the same. There was no update going on.
    This is weird.
In chrome I am logged in and sync all my settings. Never has anything like this happended :D

I do not use any cleaner tools and do not delete the cache, app settings or anything.

I'll try to play around with more settings to see, if it might be related to syncing, or the extension, or specific settings.

After some time of observing the issue I got more details.
I share the details here and additionally send a message to support with the diagnostics report.

It is not about the setting itself. My assumption is, that after some time of working with the extension in chrome, the local database of the extension is not readable anymore and is recreated with initial values.

So when I wake up my computer from standby in the morning, chrome opens a screen, telling me 1Password extension has an issue:

When checking the settings, I see they are reset to defaults.
This happens 2-3 times a week.

I'll send the diagnostics report via email.
