Hello 1Password Team,

Since yesterday iOS 18, iPadOS 18 and MacOS 15 are out. With this release Apple released their new own passwords app.

I want to stay with 1Password because it's working on all my systems including Windows and Android.
My problem is that on my Apple systems (iPhone, iPad and iMac) I often see the request from the Apple passwords app if I want to safe my credentials with their system. --> No I won't.

So my question to you is: Do you have any manual available with settings you recommend to use 1Password on iPhone, iPad and iMac only with 1Password?
Apple passwords app can stay on my systems, it's ok. But Apple password app should not ask and suggest any savings or fillings with their system.

Thanks in advance!

  • Hello @Philipp! 👋

Thank you for reaching out! As a start, I recommend that you follow the steps in our guide to turn off the built-in password manager on all devices:

Make sure to also follow the specific steps for each browser that you use. If you still see a prompt from the built-in password manager on one of your devices then please tell me which one and post a screenshot of what you see and I'll be happy to help further.
