    I am also on 1Password 7 and interested in exporting data. Export as CSV does not appear to export all fields. Especially secure notes with custom labels / fields. Would upgrading to 1Password 8 resolve this?

    Thanks for reaching out. Is there a particular reason why you were looking to export your items? 1Password 7 is no longer supported and hasn't been updated for some time.

    The CSV export is limited in what it includes, if you'd like to export a complete copy of your data (except passkeys) then I recommend that you use 1Password 8's 1PUX format: How to export your data from the 1Password desktop app

    How would I convert 1PUX format to CSV though?

    The particular reason is I do not buy subscription software.

    @woodenbrain

    The CSV format is quite basic and it won't be able to support all of the fields and data that are present in the 1PUX export. Hence, there isn't a way to convert.

    Are you looking to move your data to another password manager? If so then do they support importing 1PUX or 1PIF files?

    Dave, thanks for the reply. Yes I am, though it will be sad to move on, 1Password has been great. (Given the timing, no doubt you can deduce, Sherlock.) Isn't 1PUX and 1PIP proprietary, though? So why would any other software support it? Or maybe better question: which do?

    @woodenbrain

    Apologies for the almost non-related ping. I just had to pop in and give a big hello! I so loved OminGrowl. It has been so long since I last saw your icon, but I immediately recalled it. You've taken me back to days long ago. Thank you for the fond memories. I actually found your site and used your product thanks to this very support community.

    I'm not immediately aware of anyone who has created an importer for 1PUX. I'm sure some may have or are working on doing just that. You'd likely be best to talk with their respective support teams. Those being which ever service you're considering moving to.

    My apologies, Dave and I talked and he is aware of a few possibilities for importing. I've included links below. As they say, I learned something new today. 🙃

    @ag_tommy Thanks, I appreciate your kind words, it's great to know that people found our products useful. It was certainly a simpler era. As you may recall, it was honor system shareware. WBC is also in the Sherlock club! ;) It's hard to imagine now, but I am pretty convinced that I originated the idea of passive notifications for life / practical purposes (as opposed to purely technical notifications of software statuses etc. as Growl had been used for.) Ironically, nowadays, I look for ways to get those to stop. :)

    Times have changed. Like many, never liked subscription models for software, though I do understand it from the perspective of developers. I'd rather pay outright for a 2-3 year lifetime of a product that is still useable and dies a horrible slow death eventually. As I did with many versions of 1password, and as I recommended many friends and family to do, too. If I can avoid it, even with some inconvenience, I will do it.

    1Password is the bomb, great product. Really nice support. Just unfortunately limiting newish (by my timeline) pricing model. Also while we're at it, self-hosting and/or iCloud sync would be appreciated by many from a security perspective. But I'm no expert in that realm and am not planning on doing that with Bitwarden.

    For now, a little sad to move on.

  • I feel I can truly speak for both Dave T. and myself in that we'll be sad to see you depart.
