Hi,

Since this morning I can't use anymore Safari with the 1Password Extension installed.

As soon as I focus the safari windows, it instantly focus the 1password application.

I did a completely removal of the 1password extension and 1password software without any change.

See the following video for an example of what's happening: https://share.cleanshot.com/Lc9cj3nyyv6Qjqrqp0V5

Hope it will be resolved soon.

1Password Version: 8.10.44
Extension Version: 8.10.46
OS Version: 14.6.1 (23G93)
Browser: Safari 17.6 (19618.3.11.11.5)

  • Hello @mickael! 👋

I'm sorry that the 1Password app is being focused when you try to use Safari. It sounds like you might be running into an issue that the team is currently investigating. Can you check to see that app integration is turned on:

    1. Open and unlock 1Password for Mac.
    2. Click on 1Password next to the  in the menu bar.
    3. Click Settings.
    4. Click Browser.
    5. Make sure that "Connect with 1Password in the browser" is turned on.
    6. Restart your Mac.

Then try to reproduce the issue again. If you still see the issue then can you tell me if you use the 1Password CLI? This will help me to confirm whether you're running into the known issue.

    Hi @Dave_1P,

Yes the "Connect with 1Password in the browser" is turned on. In fact, the issue rises when this button is checked. And I can see the following error:

And Yes, I use the 1Password CLI A LOT.

    Thanks for trying to help

Thanks @EvonG1P I am already in touch with the 1Password support by email.

I will update the post if I have any success.

So far, I had to remove the link with 1Password in all browser extensions.

  • @mickael,

Ok, some update on the issue.

It looks like the parameter "Connect with 1Password in the browser" in the 1Password application was deactivated following a reset / reinstall.

Thanks to the 1Password support, to have spotted the solution.

  • On behalf of the team, you're welcome @mickael. I'm glad to hear the issue is now resolved.
