Unfortunately <double/tap entry field in app>/AutoFill/Passwords is still not showing 1Password entries with GA iOS 18. Only iCloud is shown.

Thanks for following up. With iOS 18, Apple has introduced support for third-party password managers to fill via the AutoFill > Passwords menu. Our development team is looking into this new feature and hopefully this will be something that 1Password can support in the future soon.

For now, you can fill your login credentials using the "Passwords" prompt that appears above the keyboard when tapping on a password field inside of an app: Use 1Password to save logins and sign in to apps and websites on your iPhone and iPad

It would be great if they did. It shows up on any text field in the operating system. The Safari extension is much more limited in where it can appear.

In iOS 18 there’s a autofill option in generic text field which 1Password currently hasn’t support:

It’d be great to have this as a backup when password field not detected by iOS autofill framework.

I also have this question. Would be very useful in settings where a password field isn't detected.

Thanks Dave. Any updates on whether the team has accepted this issue and what sprint (rough timeline) it will target?

  • @waderlamprey

Thanks for reaching out! I don't have any updates to share at the moment but keep an eye on our release notes for when the functionality will be released in the future: 1Password Releases

I've let the team know that you're eager to see this feature be released.

There are some banking apps I use and some Apple logins in Settings where the only way to autofill is through this context menu. If it can be supported in future I would greatly appreciate it.

This type of autofill is something every platform should have, not just iOS. It would be amazing if 1Password were a macOS service, or if Android supported something like this, etc. On a computer I can of course do CTRL+\ to bring up 1Password and copy and paste the password from the quick list using CTRL+SHIFT+C and I miss this feature every time I use an Android or iOS device with a keyboard connected. On Android you could add this feature using display over apps permission and accessibility permission. On iOS, these things are more locked down so this autofill context menu is crucial.

  • @LSTA

Thank you for the feedback, I've passed it along to the team. 🙂
