Memorable Password generator results
I like the idea of creating memorable passwords for users, especially when giving them temporary passwords over the phone. But the 1Pass "Memorable Password" generator is creating a lot problematic password strings
I get that stringing random words together can sometimes create unexpected (or unwanted) phases. But some of the resulting passwords are so creepy that we've had to tell our support techs to stop using this feature for fear triggering an unpleasent conversation with HR.
I just generated a few just now and within 10 clicks I got strings containing expressions like "religion-vultures", "sausage-eros", "harlem-disease", and "spanked-muhammad". Initially I thought it was just using a full dictionary but then relized that it never generates overt obscenities. So there must be some level of curation involved.
Is there a configurable dictionary for this solution? I can see having millions of words but why the dictionary would contain any kind of terms related to social demographics, religious concepts, or sexuality is beyond to me. Not to mention why these problematic combinations come up so frequently.
