    just came here to share my confusion about the employee vault. i was trying to store a personal password just now and was under the impression that the "employee" "angestellte" vault (don't know why some menus are german and some english to for me) would share the password with all people in the employee category. ie. all employees would be able to see the password. and i took way too long searching for my personal vault.

    PS:
    I also noticed that the German version of the vault uses plural, while the English uses singular (and the "add to 1 password" button from which i started gave me a german UI), which increased my suspicion that all employees would have access to the vault and not just me.

  • Hello @pseyfert! 👋

    Thank you for reaching out. Every user in a 1Password Teams or 1Password Business membership has their own Employee vault. This vault is not shared with all employees but is meant to store work-related items that are just for you.

    If you log in to your 1Password account on 1Password.com (in the browser, not the app) then do you see "Only you can view and edit items in this vault" under the Employee vault:

    If the password isn't work related then I would recommend storing that personal personal in your personal 1Password account as described in our blog: Introducing Employee Vaults for Teams & Business

    I look forward to hearing from you.

    Hi @Dave_1P ,

    there seems to be a misunderstanding. I'm not asking you to tell me. I'm telling you. More precisely, I'm not asking you how to use 1password. I'm telling you my user experience with your user interface and where it fails and where you should improve it such that you don't frustrate many of your customers and have to explain to many of your customers how to use it but take the oportunity to build a ui that doesn't need explaining.

    I already knew that I have a just-for-my-eyes vault. That part is easy to remember. What is not easy to remember for the occasional user is the terminology. What doesn't help is that your UI chose the translation for me that says "employees" plural. suggesting that multiple people have access. I'm suggesting to you to use a term that is unambiguous. Don't explain to me what i already found out.

    Prior to making my post I read across the previous posts in this thread and have seen the blog post. I even acknowledged in my post that I agree with what you explained in your blog post.

    Your condescending patronising response is quite enfuriating. I regret wasting my time trying to tell you where to improve your user experinece only to have my comment reach stubborn ears. That was a waste of time. Good day.

    @pseyfert

    I'm sorry if my reply came across as condescending, that was not my intention. I misread your post as saying that you believe that the Employee vault could be accessed by all employees, rather than you providing feedback that this was the impression that the translated name in German could give users. I apologize for the misunderstanding.

    I also noticed that the German version of the vault uses plural, while the English uses singular (and the "add to 1 password" button from which i started gave me a german UI), which increased my suspicion that all employees would have access to the vault and not just me.

    I believe that we were previously using a different term, "Mitarbeiter", and we changed the name to "Angestellte" after feedback from other German users. I'm checking in with the team to confirm the details about this since I'm not a German speaker myself.

    So that I can also pass this along to the team, is there a different translation would be more correct here?

    don't know why some menus are german and some english to for me

    Are you able to provide a screenshot of where you're seeing the mixed languages? There is a known issue where some category labels and field labels aren't translated properly and I want to confirm whether you're running into that issue.
