Not catching updated credentials

I was registering to use this site the other day and when I first created my username and password, 1Password asked to save it so I did. Well later in the process when you hit enter at the end, it warned me that username was already in use and to choose another one. No problem, I modified it a bit. The problem is that 1Password didn't catch this change and offer to update that login info so I had to do it manually.

  • Hello @AZBigdog! 👋

I'm sorry that 1Password didn't offer to update your login credentials on that particular site. So that I can look into this further can you tell me the following:

    1. On which device and browser did you encounter the issue?
    2. Can you share the website address of the page in question?

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Hi Dave,

it was on my Windows PC using the Brave extension. The website was actually this one (1Password Communities) when creating my login for it. I was in the process of creating my account here and went through the steps of picking a username, etc... 1Password created the login right away but then at the end of the registration process the website said that username was already used and to pick another one. I did but 1Password didn't catch the change so I had to manually update it myself. Being it was just a quick change to my username to make it work it was no big deal to fix it, but had it been a long complex password, that would be a bigger issue.

It could also be with the account creation for this website it does not check for duplicates until the end, that confuses 1Paassword instead of that coming back right away???

Thank you for the reply. I tested the same flow that you've described and I see 1Password offer to save the username when a new one is typed into the community's registration page:

Clicking on Save in 1Password then allows you to choose to update the login item that was previously saved with the new username. Do you recall seeing the Save in 1Password button?
