Feature Request: Password Request Form

Hello!

My company is a happy customer of 1Password. We store our own as well as client's sensitive data in our account and we would appreciate a way to send a request to a client to make an entry into our account without us having to obtain it in less secure ways (messaging, etc)

Thanks!

  • Hello @sampo! 👋

I'm happy that 1Password is useful to your company. Thanks for writing in with your feature request, I can see how it would be useful to send a request link to a client to have them securely upload information to your company vault and I've filed a feature request on your behalf to have the team look into this functionality in the future.

For the time being, I recommend giving your client a guest account that they can use to save items into a shared vault: Share with guests in your team

+1 on this request as I am yet again faffing around with this exact problem and had the same idea!

I've added your voice to the feature request. Thank you for sharing your desire to see a password submission feature. As Dave recommended above, it might be worth considering a guest account if it fits your needs.

We do have guest users, and they're great, but when you just need a couple of items as a one-time exchange with a customer, say, to get the wifi password for their office, or get an admin password from an outgoing staff member / support provider, a guest user is way overkill in time and effort.

If we could in effect create a blank item in the appropriate vault with whatever title/tags/type/template we want to ensure it's "filed" correctly, and then send a blind "write once" link to have a third party fill out any (selected) fields, that would be great.

Thanks again for the feedback and request, Tommy and I have shared it with the team. 🙂
