The plugin does not work on the Hydroone login site

Hello,

I've noticed that for the past month or two, the HydroOne site (https://www.hydroone.com/login?EC=) recognizes my username, but it prompts me to create a new password every time, as if the password field is no longer linked to the username.

Is there a way to resolve this issue?

Thank You
Danny

  • Hello, @osyras. Thank you for writing in. I'm sorry about the issue you encountered with 1Password.

I've done some testing on my end and have been able to recreate the same behaviour. I've filed an issue with our development team and added you as an affected user to our internal reporting.

In the meantime, I'd suggest dragging-and-dropping the password from the 1Password extension pop-over in your Login item to the password field.

    I hope that helps.

I have the exact same issue - a result I believe of the 'non-standard' log-in/out procedure of the Hydro One website. My main issue is the the 1P Suggested Password window pops up when the email address field is filled. That window is perilously close to the Hydro One login button allowing the potential of overriding an existing password.

  • @Chrissand,

I'm sorry for the trouble. I've added you to the internal tracker as well. You mentioned:

That window is perilously close to the Hydro One login button allowing the potential of overriding an existing password.

I suggest pressing the ESC key or clicking the 1Password icon in the password field to close the Inline menu so that it does not interfere with the Login button.

    I hope that helps.

    Lots of clicks ((
I should add that even if one has closed the Suggested Password box by clicking the 1P icon, the window re-opens after pasting the real password into the box. It's very insistent!

  • I'm sorry for the inconvenience, @Chrissand. You can choose to close the Inline menu after you've dragged and dropped or pasted the password in the field. Here's a short GIF demonstrating this: https://share.cleanshot.com/q8RwF2H5.

Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.
