My wife and I both have 1Password 7 (7.9.11) and would like to upgrade to a Family account subscription. I am using Sequoia 15.0.1; my wife is using Sonoma 14.5. On our iPhones we use 7.10.2 1Password app I have Safari Extension 8.10.46.34 but it doesn't work. My wife doesn't use a Safari 1Password extension and gets along fine.

Please email us using support+forum@1password.com. The reason for that is you may be eligible for a discount being a user of an earlier version of 1Password. Be sure to mention you're looking to move to a membership to ensure you get to the correct team. We'll also be able to provide you steps you need to make the change.

If you'd like to get started, you can do that first. You should start with this help topic.

Migrate your existing 1Password data from standalone vaults to a 1Password account

Pick one computer or mobile device that has all your 1Password data. You'll add your account and migrate your data into it.

    • Note you'll only migrate on a single device. There is no need to complete the step on additional devices. That could cause duplication of data.

I recommend making the journey by working with a desktop or laptop, if possible. They are much better in my experience and often faster, too. Once you have all the data in the membership all you'd need to do is sign into the account on the other devices in step 3. You may need to remove the Primary vault unless you're also moving to 1Password 8 (recommended).

⚠️ - Ensure you have a copy of your 🚒 Emergency Kit. Available as a download when you set up the account. It contains a copy of your Secret Key. You'll also need to know your password. We do not have access to those details. They are for you and you alone.

    • Also, I recommend creating a recovery code. I've created one for myself and the members of my family. Generate and use recovery codes. * The Secret Key on the Emergency Kit is not a recovery code.
