"Signs in with" in mac app and extension
I manually add a "Signs in with..." to a login when the Chrome extension fails to prompt me with a save for this info - and honestly I wouldn't expect it to get it right that often, it's hard to code that and unreasonable to expect. The issue is I have to do it from 1password.com instead of from the Mac app or the Chrome extension.
For the Mac app, the "Add More" editing option described here does not exist.
For the Chrome extension, the functionality also isn’t present at all. The documentation linked above only has documentation on the automatic save prompts for the extension, with no mention of manually adding "Signs in with..." to a login.

When manually adding a "Signs in with..." option to a login, any other login item should be an eligible option.
Currently, "Signs in with..." only works with specific logins (Google, Apple, Amazon, Facebook, etc.) because the Chrome extension will use that to display a prompt to sign in automatically. This automatic functionality really isn't that useful, as the website you are trying to log in on will also have a button to do the exact same thing.
What is useful however, is the visual reminder via the prompt itself. I am signing in somewhere with multiple "Sign in with" options to choose from, and I want to quickly be reminded of which option I chose when I signed up.
My idea is that the extension has a similar prompt to what currently exists. But the actions I can take in that prompt/notification are just clicking the associated logins (the one for the current website or the "Signs in with" website) to open them in the extension. With no need for automatic login support, the "Signs in with" can now be any login item(s) I want displayed there.
If people really care a lot about the automatic login portion of "Signs in with", it could still be kept only for logins that support it, otherwise the action doesn't show up in the notification. However, I would assume it is difficult for the developers to program this automatic login, and they will keep getting requests to add more and more options to it. I think it would be a much better experience for both developers and users, if users were to utilize what already exists on whatever given sign in page rather that relying on 1Password to maybe successfully perform the same action.

Hi there @ksroberts99
Adding a "sign in with..." field to an item requires the main 1Password 8 app (not the 1Password browser extension), which is why you won't be seeing it in 1Password 7 or in the 1Password browser extension as mentioned in your footer.
Instructions on what to do in 1Password 8 are here: Use 1Password to sign in to sites with supported providers # Edit a login – In the 1Password apps.
If you need guidance on how to upgrade, follow this guide: Upgrade to 1Password 8.
We'll be here if you need any further help or have any questions. :)

Thanks @GreyM1P ,
I see the "Add More" editing open now that I'm on version 8.
My suggestions still stand though about using any login as a "Signs in with". I don't know why that discussion got merged into this one as a comment, I would think a feature request should be a separate discussion so people can find it.

One of the goals of the "Sign in with" feature is to help remind you which sign in provider you're using on a particular website. A person might use a password for one website, sign in with Apple on another website, sign in with Google on another, and a passkey for yet another. 1Password remembers which sign in method you've used with each website and helps you sign in using that specific method automatically. That prevents you from having to remember what you've used for each particular website.
I can definitely see how it could be useful to use other login items as sign in with providers. Are there any in particular that you use yourself? The team would be interested in knowing more about the gaps that exist here. 🙂

well, as others have said on this site, Linkedin. But I'm trying to think long term here in that you can't know what obscure or brand new "sign in with" provider a site might use. These situations might not warrant coding an automatic sign in, but just a reminder would suffice. Therefore, being able to visually link one login item with another via "sign in with" would be helpful as the extension will remind you of these.

Thank you for the feedback, I've passed along all of your comments and suggestions to the team. 🙂

One last thing, as I'm not sure I was entirely clear. When I'm talking about the automatic functionality of "sign in with" not being very useful, I just mean that it's just as easy to hit the website's own button for a sign-in provider, THEN use the 1password extension in the popup / new window that appears for the sign-in provider as normal. This way the "sign in with" entry on a login can be used solely as a reminder of which provider to press in the first place.

The usefulness of the Sign in with prompt is that it reminds you of which sign-in provider you're using for that website without having to open the 1Password pop-up or the app.
For the time being, if you're looking to document that you're using a sign-in with provider that isn't currently supported then you could add a tag like
Sign-in with: LinkedIn
to the item: Organize with favorites and tags-Dave
