Autofill overlay rendered into the status bar on Android 15, taking away access to buttons

Recently tried to update my Walmart entry for the mobile App. Two things were weird:
It wouldn't let me update my existing Walmart entry in 1password with the app association. Even though that was the entry I used to login to the app in the first place.
I literally couldn't save a new entry, as all of the upper controls are being displayed beneath/behind the status bar at the top of the screen, rendering them unusable. (Can't click on something displayed underneath the status icons.)

Hello, @jogi3778, @GSK, @dlitz, @BossFrog. Thank you for reaching out. I sincerely apologize for any interruption to your workflow.
I can confirm you are experiencing a known issue affecting Pixel devices on Android 15. This problem was reported to our development team for further investigation. I've added you all as affected users to our internal reporting.
I can't provide an exact timeline for a fix, but I suggest keeping 1Password updated to receive it as soon as it's available.
@jogi3778, I noticed you have reached out to our support team via email regarding this issue. We previously recorded your status as an affected user in this report.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for your reply.
Some of the sites that offer passkeys will only let you create them on a mobile device.

I am having exact same issue with trying to save Sony passkey on the Pixel Pro 9 XL, can't click save as it is behind the battery and 4g in the top bar

New update to app today and issue still exists

Issue still exists in today's update, pixel 9 pro xl

Yes... I had hopes that this release would include that fix, but it didn't include that fix I guess.

@Fozziebox and @GSK
The issue is still open with our development team and hopefully will be fixed in a future update soon. I'm sorry for the continued inconvenience.
One workaround that can help is to run your browser in Split Screen mode and set the browser as the bottom section. This will render the Autofill UI only at the bottom half of the screen: See two apps at the same time on Pixel phone - Pixel Phone Help
I know that it's not the best workaround but I wanted to share it in case it helps.

Still exists for me on Pixel 9 Pro.
The split screen doesn't work with all apps (PayPal).

I have the same issue on my pixel 8 pro. I found a work around though. If you go to android developer options and select Display Cutout, you can change it to Render Apps Below Cutout Area.

Do you have developer options enabled?0 -
Hi everyone!
Our Development team are still working on this one, but in the meantime, you should find that if you put the browser or app where you're saving a passkey in the bottom half of the screen by using split-screen mode, and any other app on top (as long as it supports split-screen), the × and Save buttons in the save overlay will be accessible because they're not pushed off the top of the screen.
Hope that helps!

Thanks for the ping! Our development team is actively working on a fix, we'll make sure to note it in our release notes as soon as it is available in the beta/stable version of 1Password for Android:

The fix for this issue should now be released in the latest beta version of the 1Password for Android app (8.10.56 - 81056009)

I'm using a Google Pixel 8 Pro smartphone running Android 15 with the November 2024 updates. My 1password app is version 8.10.54. My PayPal app is version 8.74.1. When I attempt to create a Passkey from my PayPal app: 1) The PayPal app's "Add a Passkey" screen lets me select "Continue" (2) The 1password app responds and asks "Create a Passkey" in my 1password account and lets me select "Continue" (3) The 1password app displays the "Save Passkey in..." screen, proposing either to create a new 1password item for PayPal or to use the existing PayPal item (the existing item is the default selection shown) (4) At the top of the "Save Passkey in..." screen, the Android 15 Notifications/Status Bar is overlaid on the 1Password screen's "Save" button and "eXit" button, preventing the selection of either option and preventing the creation of a Passkey. Please advise how to remedy.

Thank you for letting the community know!
I'm sorry that you've run into the issue as well. Our developers are currently testing a fix in the latest beta version of 1Password for Android, if you're interested in giving that a try then you can follow our guide here: Use 1Password beta releases
If you'd prefer to wait until the fix is available in the stable version then, as a workaround for now, you can run the PayPal app in Split Screen mode and set the app as the bottom section. This will render the Autofill UI only at the bottom half of the screen: See two apps at the same time on Pixel phone - Pixel Phone Help

Thanks, Dave. I will try the (clever) Split Screen workaround.

The workaround...worked.

Just my two cents... I have a Google Pixel 8 Pro. I had this issue with the 1Password app but I installed the 1Password beta app and it appears to have taken care of this issue. Thank you!
