Different TOTP code between Authy and 1Password based on the same QR..

For my prusa3d.com account, I've had 2FA enabled for years now and it has always been 1P that generated the code. This morning I tried to log in and it kept saying I entered the wrong code.

I then accessed my account using a backup code, and re-initialized TOTP. The verification kept on failing. I then scanned the same QR code in Authy and that verified on the first try.
Was there something changed in 1password OTP wise?

  • Hello @Blizz! 👋

I'm sorry that 1Password isn't generating the correct code. 1Password follow the TOTP standard and should be generating the same one-time password that any other authenticator app does. It’s important that your device’s time isn’t more than 30 seconds off. The one-time password changes every 30 seconds, so if your device is more than 30 seconds off, you’ll see an incorrect code.

To check the date and time settings on all your devices, visit this website on each of your devices and make sure the time matches:

If the date and time on a device doesn’t match, you can adjust it:

Then try to sign in using your one-time password from 1Password again. Let me know if that still doesn't work.
