email Alert of New Sign in from Safari Extension
I receive email this morning about a new sign in on a safari extendion. I do not recall doing it. How do I verify the sign in is from one of my device extensions? It has what I believe is the IP address but I don’t see that it matches where I think I need to look. How can I determine which of my devices it was on? I do see my iMac, iPhone, and iPad in my trusted devices but is there anyway to see a history of their sign ins? I also do not know which device was signed in to so don’t think the version items below would be beneficial.
I am 95% sure my 1PW versions are up to date

Hi there @drohr
Chances are that one or both of these has happened:
- you're using iCloud Private Relay, which can "make it look" like a new device as far as 1Password can tell, and/or
- you've cleared your history in Safari, which also destroys the website data, thereby signing you out of the 1Password browser extension
Let me know if either of those applies. It sounds like you've already checked your list of signed-in devices, and if you recognise everything there, then that's fine – it's most likely to be an existing device signing back in for one of the reasons shown above. :)

HI Grey. I am not sure how to verify if I am using iCloud Private Relay. I have not recently cleared my history either. I got a new phone about a week before this took place. The only odd thing I believe I saw when I checked signed in devices was I thought I saw one in another city...not where I am. I no longer see that. Its there any way to see a history of devices that have signed in? I have looked in my device management and no longer see it there.

I am not sure how to verify if I am using iCloud Private Relay.
This guide should help you find where you would turn it on: Set up iCloud Private Relay on all your devices – Apple Support

That does sound like a Private Relay thing. The fact you no longer see it means that device "changed location" – either in real life or because Private Relay changed where your device appears to be. If you didn't remove that device from the list, it'll be an existing device that was showing an unexpected location for a while.

Private relay was not on for any of my devices surprisingly.

In which case, it could be an internet service provider thing. For example, right now, I'm in Wales in the UK, but my connection "thinks" I'm over the border in England, because my "location" according to my IP address is about 80 miles (~130 km) from my actual location.
Your IP address changes every now and again, and so can your "location", so I wouldn't be too surprised if it was that happening.

I understand, So let it ride for now and don't take any actions like changing my master PW or anything drastic?

I would not change anything unless you feel strongly on the subject. It's always an option if you wish to use it. In my personal experience it's common for situations like Grey mentioned. I've had several myself over the years. You can also email us and we can investigate more.

I too have started seeing these alerts and panicked as I'm sure many others have done. After some careful trouble shooting I'm leaning towards thinking they are false alarms caused by two things:
1) I use Apple's iCloud Private Relay.
2) 1Password implemented their new(?) alarm system without reading "Trust Private Relay connections".
If anyone knows otherwise please let me know.

You should carefully review any connected devices. Typically, as Grey mentioned above it's a reconnection or an IP change due to how private relay works. We're always here to help. If you'd like us to look more into your situation please email us. We do not have access to account details here in the community.
