Feature Request - Differentiate Device Lid Closed from Sleep / Logout
I'm using a MacBook Air with Touch ID. I'd like to be able to login using my fingerprint, close the lid, and attach to a dock, without 1Password logging out. However, I still want it to logout if the computer goes to sleep, is logged out, etc.
As a second option, a short (30 second) delay on the "Lock on sleep, screensaver, or switching users" would accomplish the same goal. Just enough time to close the lid, and put it in the dock.
This feature request exists only because Apple won't allow 3rd part Touch ID devices and sells theirs for a mint, so I'm not buying their keyboard. Looking at you, Apple.

Hello @drakwald! 👋
Thank you for the feedback, I can certainly pass it along to the team! Out of curiosity, why not attach the dock to the Macbook Air before you close the laptop lid? 1Password will remain unlocked if you've connected another monitor before closing the lid.
One other option, if you have an Apple Watch, is to turn on Apple Watch unlock for 1Password: Use your Apple Watch to unlock 1Password on your Mac

Great point in most cases. In mine, I use a vertical dock that the laptop slides into, but only with the lid closed.
I don't have an Apple Watch, but I'll remember that in the future.

Thank you for the insight into your use case. While I can't make any promises, I've filed a feature request to have the team look into adding more granular options to auto-lock in the future. 🙂
For the time being, turning off "Lock on sleep, screensaver, or switching users" and setting a short duration for the "Lock after the computer is idle for" setting sounds like the best option for you.
