Reason for hardware/software ban in new update?
(iPhone 7 User)
I am curious if anyone can give me a reasonable answer as to why 1Password have chosen to push out the iPhone 7 from the use of there app? This new update seems to have banned all iPhone 7 models (as well as older models) due to the limitation of the iOS that is can run on the device under apples authority. The iPhone 7 which i have been using is now no longer supported by 1Passwords software which requires people (attempting) downloading an installing to be on iOS 16.4 in order for the App Store to allow install on there device.
i mean i have a iPhone 13 as well but i really like the little seven and have always liked it an still keep it in service and enjoy using it. but to all good things comes an end i suppose, just wish you would have left optional downloads for models of iPhones that literally can not upgrade not by stubbornness but by hardware/software limitations. i download apps that claim to "require" ios 18 but then when i try to download it on my iPhone 7 they shoot me either an old app version or perhaps the company is making modified versions of there apps to run on old hardware. i wonder if you could go ahead and release a modified version for older hardware or just simply allow specific app versions to be ran on older hardware for those who may not have alternatives or the luxury of buying thousand dollar phones each year.
i do want to bring this to attention because iPhone 8 and iPhone X are being iOS Hardware Capped by Apple at 16.7 i think i read before. so if you go to mandatory 16.8 requirement you lose 2 more generations of iPhones to 1Password Software locking customers out of there application. thanks for letting me run my mouth, have a good night and i do hope someone can give a legitimate reason for shunning an entire generation of cellphone users that are still being sold cellular service plans through every single major company around the globe. Im running mine on AT&T an shouldn't be banned from your app just because you say so or felt like it or did it for the lulz.

Hello @R3b00t! 👋
Thanks for reaching out. 1Password 8 requires iOS 16.4 or later so that 1Password can provide the best, and most reliable, experience possible on iOS 16 and later.
If you're using an older iPhone that can't be updated to iOS 16 then you may be able to run 1Password for iOS version 8.10.4 on that device but you won't be able to update to newer versions.

Too bad for us who are satisfied with our “ancient” iPhone 7 that we are completely satisfied with. We’ll be fine with 1Password until some flaw is discovered that will make it unsafe and unreliable.
