How do I stop a hacker? 3 emails "We’ve received your request for help with 1Password" isn't me!
Three times today I've received an email from one password saying
"We’ve received your request for help with 1Password.
Thank you for verifying your email address:
(My correct address Redacted)
If you weren’t expecting this email, you can safely ignore it."
Well, I'm not asking 1password for help, somebody else is using my email address and requesting help with my account. And they're doing it multiple times over the past few hours.
I was not expecting this email. But how am I supposed to safely ignore the idea that somebody else is trying to crack my account?
There's no way for me to reply that this is fraudulent. What if the hacker gets through with some clever social engineering? What data would 1password want to authenticate this hacker as being truly me?
I wish I could alert customer service to be on the lookout for an impostor.

Hello @JamieRI! 👋
Thank you for reaching out. It sounds like you're receiving the verification email that is sent after you open the 1Password.com login page, click "Having trouble signing in?", and enter your email address here:
If you haven't entered your email address here then you can safely ignore the email. It's possible that someone who knows your email entered it into the tool but if you don't click any links in the email there is no risk to you or to your account. You might wish to consider changing the email address associated with your 1Password account to one that fewer people know about: Change your profile information and language on 1Password.com
You can take a screenshot of the the email and send it to
support@1Password.com
along with a link to this thread and our security team can take a look and advise more specifically for your particular situation. 🙂-Dave

I will change my email address for my 1Password account. My address is on many breaches, and I also just was "locked out" of an account for too many login attempts... which is good, but shows that someone is trying to crack my accounts.
But what does "Thank you for verifying your email address" mean??? I did NOT take any action to "verify" my email address with 1Password, so what was done by someone else that generated this scary acknowledgement? What does "verify" mean?
Does 1Password customer service authenticate any requests to change my account or recover my account in a bulletproof way?

Account changes such as email are protected by your account password. Likewise, you can only change your password by knowing your password. I would also recommend touching base with our security team as Dave mentioned. Additionally, I also agree with changing your email address to your 1Password account.
