Disable autofill in authenticator applications

I use Microsoft Authenticator, on sites that prompt you to use it to enter a 2-digit number. 1password offers to save that 2-digit number each time - there's no circumstance in which this would be useful!
Is there a way to prevent autofill in these fields? If not, can one be added please?

    Hello @IanBBB! 👋

I'm sorry that 1Password is incorrectly prompting you to save a field that can't be saved in 1Password. So that we can get this fixed, could you please send the page structure of the webpage in question to our support team? Follow these steps:

    1. Open the website in question until you can see the two-digit field that you're referring to.
    2. Right-click on the page and click "1Password - Password Manager" > Help > Collect Page Structure.

Attach the resulting JSON file to an email message addressed to support+forum@1password.com.

    With your email please include:

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here. Thanks very much!

    Hi Dave,
Sorry, perhaps I wasn't clear. This is when using the Microsoft Authenticator Android Application. So I will be on a website on my laptop that requires me to MFA using MS Auth - a notification pops up on my phone, I click it, enter a 2-digit number in MS Auth, and then on my phone 1P pops up and offers to save that 2-digit number.

Thank you for clarifying. It sounds like you're running into a known issue that our development team is currently tracking. So that I can confirm this, I'd like to ask you to take a screenshot of what you're seeing and attach it to your reply:

I have the same problem multiple times a day/week when using Microsoft Authenticator for sign-in into my business accounts. This really has to be fixed as quickly as possible. I'll try to take a screenshot as well the next time.

I'm sorry for the impact to your workflow. If you can grab a screenshot then that will help me confirm whether you're running into the known issue. If you'd prefer to avoid posting the screenshot on the public forum then you can send it to support+forum@1Password.com along with a link to this thread.

@Dave_1P Thank you for your patience. There is more than one report of this problem in this forum. Here is the screenshot. Unfortunately, the security settings prevented showing the Microsoft Authenticator App in the background. This is why it is black. Here is the screenshot:

After entering the code, 1password pops again with offering to save the login, which is also false.

@Dave_1P Now, I could take photos for the clearance. Hope that helps.

First, the wrong prompt to fill a password. It appears in the app right after I request a login on another device. But I have to enter a showed number.

Next, 1P suggest saving the number.

Thank you for the screenshots! I can confirm that you're running into a known issue, our developers are currently testing a fix in the latest beta to only prompt to autosave when both username and password fields are present on screen in an app.

Are you willing to see if the beta resolves the issue for you? If you are then you can find instructions here:

@Dave_1P Using Android 1P 8.10.56 (81056009) Beta it's not working, I still got both: Auto fill for the number field and the following prompt to save this to 1P.
