Two different looks for biometric?

This month I am seeing on the login screen:

  • 1P logo and then below that
  • "my" (a person's avatar) and then below that
  • a rectangle with the phrase Enter your password and then at the far right, in the rectangle is a very small picture of a fingerprint.

What I have described is new to me. In fact for a few days I didn't even notice the small fingerprint at all and just thought for whatever reason 1P was asking me to enter the password manually :(. (Hence my post from yesterday in which I was wrong in saying that I was being asked to enter my pw manually...sorry for that thread).

Previously, and still sometimes, there was no avatar, no rectangle (and so no phrase "Enter your password") BUT instead I'd see:

  • the 1P logo then just below that
  • "1Password" and below that
  • "Unlock 1Pasword" and then further down
  • a large fingerprint and finally below that
  • "Touch the fingerprint sensor"

Why am I seeing two different login displays?

  • Hello @jmjm! 👋

I'm sorry that you're seeing multiple prompts when using 1Password on your Android device. To help me better understand the situation I'd like to ask you to take a screenshot of what you're seeing and attach it to your reply:

Make sure that nothing sensitive is visible in the screenshot.

Hey Dave, I do know how to take a screenshot but it seems that a screenshot of a(ny) biometric login on my phone results in a black screen shot when viewed after the fact. There must be a security setting which I dont know about which is causing this?
