Is there a way to Disable the 1Password Internal Browser?

With my iPad, when I'm trying to create a new account, it will launch the browser and jump away the page I'm working on in my browser.
I go back to my browser, try again and 1Password opens it's internal browser AGAIN.

I DO NOT want this to happen. EVER.

How can I make it stop?

Thanks!

  • Hello @Copperhead! 👋

Thank you for reaching out. 1Password 8 for iOS doesn't have an internal browser, instead it will use your default browser to open a website if you tap on a website address in the app.

To help me better understand the situation I'd like to ask you to take a screenshot of what you're seeing and attach it to your reply:

Please also let me know which version of 1Password and iOS you're using.

OK. I'm using the latest version with iPad OS 18.1.

Is there a way to STOP 1Password from automatically opening a new window when I'm trying to setup a new website account and already working in a window?

There's really no need for a screenshot.
1Password just opens a new window when I DO NOT want it to.

Thanks for the reply. 1Password for iOS shouldn't "automatically" open a window without any user interaction, are you tapping on a website field in the 1Password app?

Is a specific website being opened when the new window opens? Is it always the same one or is it one that is related to the login credentials that you're trying to save?

If you're using Safari then have you tried using 1Password for Safari to save your new login credentials rather than using the main app: Get to know 1Password for Safari on your iPhone or iPad
