What's with the 3 steps left window?

When I just logged in, there was a window in my 1Password that indicated I had 3 steps left. Funny but I've used 1Password for 10 years. So, what's with the little window? It's asking me to do something to use the Browser Extension, which I already use. It's asking me to import passwords. So, do I need to do something new or delete this somehow? Advise please.

There's something going on with extensions in general. users reporting issues on both windows and Mac, and chrome, safari, and firefox.

I have a relatively new "Start Here" banner when I click on the Chrome extension.

I didn't add it again, not not sure why it popped up. The 3 step screen is super glitchy as one of the steps in the Chrome extension is to add the Chrome Extension with no way of checking the box that it's done.

I can't figure out a way to get ride of this thing.

Ah, just noticed there way a start here in the desktop app too. I went to that and had to click Finish, and then go back to the chrome extension and do the tutorial on how to save a website. Pretty lame honestly, I've never seen a tutorial that you can't dismiss, especially one where I've had both installed for years.

It has been bothering me since the update. I do not want to use autofill, so I can never complete all steps and there is no way to get rid of the banner on top of the start page.
It‘s like a dark pattern thing to coax you into doing something.
Please give me a chance to get rid of it.

There doesn't seem to be a way to dismiss or complete any of the steps in the Tutorial in the recent extension update in Safari. I have tried to complete the steps, but it doesn't register that anything was completed.

Hello everyone! Thank you for your messages. I've consolidated three discussions into a single thread as they all address the same issue. I apologize for the trouble you're experiencing with 1Password in the browser, particularly with the inability to dismiss the Start Here tutorial.

Our development team is currently addressing an open issue where the steps in the new Welcome Experience cannot be marked as complete. I apologize for the inconvenience.

In the meantime, I suggest removing and reinstalling the 1Password extension in your browser to check if the behaviour improves.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    @EvonG1P

For the moment I don't want to do anything that could even possibly make it worse. Is it okay to just leave it as it is until the development team has a fix?

I do not want to install the Safari Browser Extension, so I can never fully complete all the steps. I just want to be able to dismiss the whole "Start here" section so that it is no longer shown.
    Thanks in advance.

+1. I can’t believe how 1P rolled this out. It seems designed to annoy your existing customers.

I have used 1P for 10 years on multiple devices, and on all of those devices I’ve had to take time to dismiss these unwanted prompts.

Whoever approved releasing this, what on earth were you thinking?!

    Hi there,

despite completing the steps to set up, the tutorial persists and cannot be dismissed. This behavior seems like a bug and disrupts the user experience:

We need a fix. We need it now. ;)

  • @jazzman, @Sidewinder, @ings, @winicjusz,

Thank you everyone for sharing your feedback. I've relayed your comments to the team. I assure you our development team is working to improve this.
