Offline to online asks for password

Hi, I use 1 password on my work win10 computer (google chrome browser). When I start my computer:
1.) I unlock 1password in browser.
2.) use 1password to fill my microsoft account credentials for GlobalProtect VPN
3.) after few seconds VPN create a connection and I'm online but 1password is still offline. I have to manually click on offline icon to force online connetion (which is not that bad), but I need to enter my 1password password again.

My questions:
a) is this behavior ok?
b) is there any chance that you change it in future versios - so ther won't be necessary to enter my 1pass password twice?

Thank you.

Peter.

  • Hello @dufoq3! 👋

I'm sorry that you're running into issues with 1Password in the browser when using your VPN. I've tried to reproduce the issue using ProtonVPN, since I don't have access to GlobalProtect VPN, and I haven't been able to do so. So that I can better understand the situation, can you tell me the following:

    1. Are you using a GlobalProtect VPN app on your Windows PC? Or is it just a Chrome browser extension?
    2. Is there a "VPN kill switch" setting enabled somewhere in your VPN that restricts internet access when the VPN isn't running and connected?
    3. Is it possible that you're being prompted for your account password a second time because of your auto-lock settings: How to set 1Password to lock automatically

I look forward to hearing from you.

    -Dave

    Hi @Dave_1P,
    1. Global Protect VPN app on Windows PC
    2. I'm not able to use internet without VPN (it is company restriction)
    3. no, my 1password is still unlocked but when my pc connect to VPN (and also to the internet), I want to change my 1password chrome extetentions state from offline to online so I have to click on that red cloud icon (to make it online) - it asks me to sign in again.
