Hello is there any setting that Users have to set a Tag before creating a entry?
Second Question: If you create a Tag whilst creating a entry, it happens that you accidently create a tag. Is there a option in which you have to confirm to create a tag?

  • Hello @flavioziegler! 👋

Thanks for the question! There isn't currently any way to require that users add a tag to an item when they create a new item. Can you tell me a little more about the use case here? Is this for a family account or for a business account?

To create a tag using 1Password for Windows you need to perform three actions:

    1. Click on the +Add tag button.
    2. Enter the tag name.
    3. Save the item.

This reduces the risk of someone accidentally creating a tag. And if they do they can edit the item and remove the tag from the item. If no other items are tagged, then the tag is deleted.

It's for a business account. The use case is that we have a lot of Customers that need to be tagged, so that we can find entry to this customers, in case the company name isn't in the title of the entry.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not aware of a way to require that new items be tagged before they can be saved but that seems like it might be a useful option for some organizations (like yours). I've filed a feature request on your behalf to have our product team look into this further in the future. 🙂

Thanks can someone let me know as soon as the feature is implemented?

  • @flavioziegler

While I can't make any promises, the product team will consider the feature request for future updates. If the feature is implemented you'll see it noted in our release notes: 1Password Releases 🙂
