Pop-ups as I'm filling out form

edited November 25 in 1Password in the Browser

On my Mac running 15.1.1, as I'm filling out a site's log-in form to create a login, 1Password pops up little dialogue boxes about adding that to 1Password. Problem is, it covers half the field I'm trying to enter info into. Super annoying. Is there any way to make it stop? At least on iOS, I get a little icon at the end of the field, and that's all, unless I click it.

  • Hello @mscwebmaster! 👋

I'm sorry that 1Password is getting in the way. You can dismiss the suggestion from 1Password by pressing Esc on your keyboard.

Alternatively, you can have 1Password avoid showing suggestions until you click on the 1Password icon in the username/password field by following these steps:

    1. Open your browser.
    2. Right-click on the 1Password icon in your browser's toolbar and click Settings.
    3. Click Autofill & save.
    4. Turn off "Show auto suggestions when a form field is in focus".

    I hope that helps.

Except I’m left-handed, and in order to hit escape on the left side of my keyboard, I have to stop what I’m doing, take my left hand off my mouse, then hit escape. Then grab my mouse again. Which is a real bummer when I’m filling out all but the simplest form. Not a good UX.

Instead, I’d like to just turn off this annoying feature.
