Hi

I did look at the last few pages worth of posts but couldn't find anything relevant. My 1PW is repeatedly telling me that it can't unlock because of a pending update to Chrome. Is this a regression, I thought it had been 'fixed' last year?

Thanks

  • Hello @sram! 👋

    I'm sorry that you're seeing an error message that says: You're asked to re-enter your password because Chrome has an update available. Our developers are aware of the issue and are currently investigating, I'll make sure to update this thread as soon as a fix is available.

    For the time being, restarting Chrome will allow you to workaround the issue. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

    @sram

    Our development team is currently testing a fix for the issue in the nightly release of 1Password 8. If you're willing to temporarily try the nightly to confirm that it resolves the issue for you then you can follow these steps:

    1. Open and unlock the 1Password desktop app.
    2. Click your account or collection at the top of the sidebar and click Settings.
    3. Click Advanced.
    4. Choose "Release channel": Nightly.
    5. Click About.
    6. Click Check for updates.

    Then follow the steps to update 1Password and restart the app. Then, the next time that Chrome updates, if you see the same message please let me know. If you're not interested in trying the nightly (which is completely okay!) then we hope to release the fix to the stable version of 1Password as soon as testing is completed.
