Passkeys created in browser work, but app for same services does not recognize passkey

I created passkeys for two shopping sites using Win11/Edge and updated existing logins in 1Password with them. Using them on the laptop in the browser works fine. 1Password prompts for both sites (Amazon and Lowe's) to use the passkey and I'm logged in successfully.

However, on my Google Pixel 7 Pro running Android 15, neither the Amazon nor Lowe's app recognizes that a passkey has already been created. Both apps offer to create a passkey, but I can't save it in 1Password. I also disabled/reenabled 1Password as the passkey manager on the Pixel. That didn't change the behavior, though. I don't think I want to create a new/second passkey anyway. My limited understanding is the value in saving passkeys in 1Password is cross-device usage.

As of now I can use a passkey to login to a service on a Windows device from Edge, but have to use username/password on the Android app for that service. Do I misunderstand how this is supposed to work, or is the expected functionality not working correctly?

    Hello @bamwv! 👋

I'm sorry that you're running into issues when trying to sign in with a passkey on your Android phone. It sounds like you might be running into a known issue that our development team is currently tracking, so that I can confirm this, I'd like to ask you to take a screenshot of what you're seeing when you try to sign in to either the Amazon or Lowes app and attach it to your reply:

Thanks for your response, @Dave_1P. I can record the screen when logging in to Lowe's and Amazon, but it will show personal username information. (I don't have video blurring tools.) Is there a way I can send this to 1Password support without posting it on a public forum?

I'm sorry for the late reply. Please send an email to support+forum@1Password.com and include a link to this thread in your email.

After emailing in, you'll receive a reply from BitBot, our friendly robot assistant with a Support ID that looks something like [#ABC-12345-678]. Post that here, and I'll be able to locate your message and send you a secure upload link for your screen recording. 🙂
