stop a popup
Whenever I open 1P in Safari I get a popup "A quicker way to sign in. 1Password will now sign in automatically after autofilling your credentials. You can change this anytime in settings." I don't want to see this popup over and over again. How do I stop it?
1Password Version: 8.10.52
Extension Version: 8.10.52
OS Version: macOS 15.1
Browser: safari

Hello @CharlesCaplan! 👋
I'm sorry that you're seeing the same prompt repeatedly when using 1Password in Safari. So that I can better understand the situation can you tell me the following:
- Do you regularly clear Safari's history/cache?
- What is the following setting configured to: Safari > Settings > General > "Remove history items".
I look forward to hearing from you.

1) I clear safari's history and cache whenever I close the app. I've understood that that is important for safety. Is that correct or should I not bother to do that?
2) It's set to one year, but I clear it manually.0 -
Thanks for the reply. In most cases, there's no need to clear your browser history regularly. Was there a specific reason why you do so? The primary benefit of clearing your browsing history regularly is to hide it from someone who might have physical access to your Mac and might want to snoop on what you've been doing online.
When clearing Safari's browsing history you'll also clear 1Password for Safari's local data, Safari web extensions (of which 1Password for Safari is one) store configuration data in the same bucket that Safari clears when you choose to clear history/cache. Clearing Safari's history/cache will reset 1Password for Safari's preferences and result in you seeing the prompt that you reported seeing again.
Other browsers, like Chrome and Firefox, don't clear extension data when you clear browsing history so moving to one of those is also an option if you'd like to keep clearing your browsing data regularly.
