Storing PGP keys in 1Password

This has been asked before, but... I'd like to store PGP Private keys in 1Password.

There is a rationale: if someone is away/falls sick/falls under a bus, there are cases where we might need to use another team member's secret key to decrypt emails. The fact that access to this key would be logged/controlled by 1Password provides the necessary level of governance to ensure that the facility isn't misused.

SSH keys can already be stored by 1Password: this doesn't seem like a big ask...

  • Hello @JamesMac! 👋

Thank you for the suggestion! Having a dedicated way to store PGP private keys in 1Password would be useful, I'd love that feature myself. I've filed a feature request on your behalf.

For the time being, you can upload the PGP key as an attachment or Document item to 1Password: Save important files in 1Password

Alternatively, you can save the PGP key in a text field inside of a Login or Password item.
