Question about using 1P on university computer
I frequently use university-owned public Dell computers that require university sign-in and 2FA at Columbia / Barnard. The Barnard Firefox opens with 1P installed. But it seems to require my Secret Key in addition to my username and password. Is that right? That seems so cumbersome that I never sign in.
I am sending this question from my own Mac so I'm not adding my version info. Barnard tries to keep all software and browser up to date. Thanks.

Yes, on new installations you'll need to supply all of your credentials to authenticate. Email, Secret Key, and Account Password.

How to add another 1Password account to the apps and browser extension
Only by supplying both the Account Password and Secret Key can your data be unlocked. Each is half the encryption of your data. Page 10-13

Thanks, I realized why Columbia computers have 1Password installed, when Columbia / Barnard computers (run by a separate IT department) don’t. Both require a sign-in. Columbia / Barnard deletes all user info every time you sign out, so 1Password users would have to enter their secret key everytime. On Columbia computers, however, the browser is connected to the user, and info is not deleted for a few days. So if one keeps using the same computer and browser, the info is there, connected to the sign-in.
