Hi There, I use idrive and chose to use my own encryption key. Is there a way to send it after I log in? You have to send it everytime, so it would be nice for me to put it in a field that would populate when asked.

thanks!

  • Hello @DataLeast! 👋

Thank you for reaching out! Where are you entering your encryption key? Is it into an iDrive web app in your browser? Or into a desktop app on your Mac?

Are you able to provide a screenshot of the screen where you enter your encryption key? Make sure that no sensitive information is visible in the screenshot.

Hi Dave, yes I can get a screen shot, but everytime I log into the web portal it asks me to paste it in.

  • Hello, @DataLeast.

I've done some testing on my end and have found a way to autofill the Encryption Key on the iDrive website. Here's how:

    1. Open and unlock the 1Password app.
    2. Locate your iDrive Login item and click Edit.
    3. Click + add more and select Password. Edit the title from Password to encrypt_key and enter your encryption key below it.
    4. Click + add more. select Password, and enter your iDrive password below it.
    5. Remove the iDrive Login password under the username field and click Save.

    Here's a screenshot for reference:

After that, you can autofill the Encryption key from the Inline menu. Let me know how that goes.
