The "Open 1Password" doesn't work when minimised

If 1Password is already open, but minimised, the "Open 1Password" option from the top bar menu does nothing.
I expect it to behave the same regardless of the window state. If it's closed, I'd like it to show up. If it's minimised, I'd like it to show up too.

Thanks for the reply. I'll keep an eye out for other reports of the issue, if you are able to find more consistent reproduction steps then let me know.

  • It turns out the behaviour is not consistent. When I tried testing it now on purpose, I could not reproduce it on a laptop. But I run into it every day... I'll try to figure out exactly what state is it in when the issue happens next time.
(but yes, that's exactly the steps you took to reproduce it when it does happen)

  • Hello viraptorenvato! 👋

I'm sorry that you're running into issues when opening 1Password. I'm not able to reproduce the issue on my end, here's what I'm doing:

    1. Open and unlock the 1Password for Mac desktop app.
    2. Click on the yellow circle in the top left corner to minimize 1Password to the Dock.
    3. Right-click on the menubar icon and click Open 1Password.

At this point the 1Password window maximizes from the Dock. Can you let me know if I misunderstood the issue?

I noticed that you're running macOS 14.6.1, just in case please update to macOS 14.7.1, restart your Mac, and then try to reproduce the issue again.
