  • Hello @astandre! 👋

Thanks for the question! You can set favourites to open by default by following these steps:

    1. Open your browser.
    2. Right-click on the 1Password icon in your browser's toolbar and click Settings.
    3. Click Appearance.
    4. Set "Open 1Password to" to "★ Favorites".

    I hope that helps.

I found one problem. I had the 1Password APP icon on the Safari toolbar and not the extension. I removed that icon.

Then I tried Safari>Extensions and that took me to the APP Store which I exited.

Then I tried Safari>Settings and that listed 1Password for Safari and the little box at the beginning was checked as was the box for Allow in Private Browsing. At one point, I also deleted the extension and redownloaded it. I also shut down my MAC and restarted it.

Now I wanted the 1Password extension icon in the Safari toolbar. In Safari I chose View>Customize Toolbar but the 1Password icon was not listed. Then I went to the 1Password App > Help> Troubleshooting >Fix Missing Safari Extension. I chose this option.

I returned to Safari and there was no 1Password for Safari icon on the toolbar and no icon listed in the customize Toolbar. I then closed Safari and repeated the above steps. Still no luck in adding the extension icon to the toolbar.

Consequently, I need help in getting the 1Password for Safari extension icon onto the Safari toolbar. Once that is accomplished I hope to display my Favorites when I click on it.

    Thanks for your help.

  • @astandre,

Thank you for your reply. Just to clarify, is Password for Safari installed in your Applications folder and listed among Safari's Extensions, yet the icon is still missing from the toolbar?

If it's enabled in Safari's Extensions, can you activate 1Password for Safari using the keyboard shortcut? Command⌘ + Shift⇧ + X

Additionally, can you share a screenshot of the issue? Please do not share any sensitive personal information in our public forums. -> Take a screenshot on your Mac.

yes, 1Password Extension for Safari is installed and it is listed BUT the icon is missing from the toolbar
    (screenshot attached).
As you can see from the toolbar there is no 1Password icon. When I use Command/Shift X 1Password for Safari does not open.

I'd like to have the1Password for Safari icon on this upper toolbar

    thx

  • @astandre,

Thank you for your reply. The 1Password for Safari icon can only appear beside the website address bar in Safari's toolbar. Are you referring to the 1Password desktop app icon? Here's a screenshot for reference:

On the left, you can see the 1Password extension pop-over active in Safari, while on the right, the 1Password desktop app is open, its icon displayed in the macOS menu bar near the date/time.
