Saved credentials (master pw and secret key) in 1Password?

Does 1Password still save new credentials (master pw and secret key) in 1 password? Is there anything special about how that initial credentials record is saved that it is more secure than a normal saved password, it is local only?

Is there any advantage to deleting this saved record?

is this how LastPass accounts were accessed? thank you

Yes, credentials are saved. No it's a typical record like any other. It's all kept within you encrypted database. The record would be available by accessing your account. 1Password.com is actually a web application that runs locally on your device.

No, I generally recommend keeping it. We help users each day locate it when they can't recall their password. They typically, have access on though something like biometrics. That said, you could remove it if you wish.

No, the LastPass accounts were accessed by other means to the best of my knowledge.

The 1Password item you describe is kept in your encrypted database. It's like saving the safe combination in the safe. You can't get at it unless you know the combination.
