Hi @samskinnerphd and @NBG, thank you both for reaching out!
I'm sorry that you're both experiencing trouble with app integration. Can each of you reproduce the behaviour on your device and send over some diagnostics, so that we can take a closer look:
- How to send a 1Password diagnostics report - 1Password desktop app
- How to send a 1Password diagnostics report - 1Password browser extension
Please attach the files to an email message addressed to
support+forum@1password.com
with a link to this thread, and include your username in the message. After sending the email, you’ll receive a reply from our friendly support assistant with a Support ID that looks something like [#ABC-12345-678]. Post that here, and I’ll be able to locate your message and make sure it’s gotten to the right place. As a side note, I should mention that Google Chrome is a supported browser, so it does not need to be added as an additional browser under "Connect to additional browsers". This feature is for users who want to authorize an unsupported browser to connect with the 1Password for Mac desktop app.
I look forward to hearing from you!

David,
Thanks for responding to my post requesting help.
However, I am not sure how to reproduce the behavior. Should I be logged into my desktop app and then view the browser extension showing me the need to log in? Will that give you the information you need?

I did add it under supported browsers, but that hadn't fixed it. I am emailing the logs now.

I'm a dunce. I missed the checkbox "Connect with 1Password in the browser" at the top of the Browser page in Settings. When I clicked that, everything worked as expected. I had added the browsers below before checking that so I didn't catch that it was there. All good from me.

I had been having the same problem for over a week or two. I came to the community looking for answers and I found this post.
I was having the same "Integration status: Connection problem" error in the 1P extension settings (and my Mac 1Password app was unlocked and configured with a checked checkbox under the Browser setting 'Connect with 1Password in the browser'.
I decided to toggle the 'Connect with 1Password in the browser' checkbox OFF and then ON again.
After I cycled it off and back on, I went back to check my extension settings and the 'Integration status' changed to 'Connected' -- and this, presumably, will resolve the problem in the future.
**** EDITING THE POST ****
Well...it looks like I should not have assumed the problem would go away after the initial success. I am back with the "Integration status: Connection problem" error.
How did I encounter the problem again?
Well...I decided I would open a new Chrome browser using a different Google profile (which also has the 1Password extension configured). When the new browser window opened, the 1Password extension was locked (which...okay...I can understand if it is locked initially when I opened a new profile's browser for the first time). So, I unlocked it...but when I went to the settings, it said that the Integration status was not connecting to the app.
Then, I went back to the original profile's browser and checked the Integration status and it no longer was in a 'Connected' state.
I tried toggling on/off the app's browser setting again, but this time, it did not change the Integration status.
It appears my struggles continue with the connectivity between the app and the Chrome browser extension (rendering the Chrome browser extension continually locking and not 'connected' to the app's installed version of 1Password).

One thing I noted yesterday. Whenever I added a new browser within 1Password, it would toggle that switch back off. I'm not sure that was intended by the developers. I don't think that is the problem you are having, but I wanted to add it to this chain.

Sorry I didn't see your message earlier! If you're still experiencing the behaviour, you can reproduce an attempt to unlock the 1Password extension in your browser while your desktop app is locked or unlocked, then share the requested diagnostics using the steps mentioned here. Let me know if you run into any trouble.
Happy to hear that you were able to get things working after turning on "Connect with 1Password in your browser" within the 1Password desktop app settings under Settings > Browser.
You mentioned:
One thing I noted yesterday. Whenever I added a new browser within 1Password, it would toggle that switch back off.
If you're adding an additional browser that isn't supported under the "Connect to additional browsers" section, are you continuing to experience the the "Connect with 1Password in your browser" setting switch off any time you add or remove a browser from the list? Is it occurring when adding a specific browser?
Thank you for sending those reports over to us! I've located your ticket and a member of the support team should be in touch soon.
