Minor bug : cosmetic issue after setup with QR-code?

After installing 1password on Ubuntu 24.14 or EndeavourOS and transferring the account with the QR-code, there is an issue with conflicting screens if the 1Password account is protected with an authentication code or key. I'm testing ansible installations so I became rather familiar with the issue. :)

To replicate:

  1. Install Ubuntu or EndeavourOS
  2. Install 1Password
  3. Transfer the keys to 1Password, using 1Password on the smartphone to scan the QR-code on the linux app. (At this time, the system doesn't ask for authentication or key, and that's a problem in itself IMO)
  4. Reboot (I guess logout will also work)
  5. Open 1Password.
  6. The system will now show you two overlapping screens: one to link 1Password to the linux user account and one to enter the authentication code or key.

The only way to untangle myself from this situation is closing 1Password. When you reopen 1Password, you have to click on sign-on in the warning message underneath to use a key or authentication code.

The link between 1Password and the linux account has to be established through settings.

I also have this issue after installing 1Password on Linux. Got that issue on Arch Linux and EndeavourOS.

When I'm not able to type in the 2fa code, the window in the background is active. When closing this window it is possible to enter 2fa.

Closing and Reopening 1Password also helps.

Thanks for your reaction. I know how to fix it, but it is rather annoying and there is still the issue that accounts and passwords are accessible without 2FA or U2F validation after an installation. Authentication with a QR-code should not override other authentication requirements. I understand 1Password want to make it as easy and painless as possible but this a feature that cannot be turned off - as far as I know - so I don't want it to override other security settings.
