1Password6 for Mac / 1Password-App for iOS 16 on iPhone
Dear 1Password-support,
I use 1Password6 on my Mac (Mac OS Sequoia 15.2). On my iPhone X (iOS16.7.10) I used to use the 1Password app. Since the synchronization of the iPhone app with my Mac no longer worked, I deleted the app from my iPhone to reinstall it. Unfortunately, I can only find the latest 1Password version for iPhone in the App Store, which requires iOS 17.5 as the operating system. How can I download my previously used 1Password app, which ran on iOS 16, back onto my phone? Thank you very much for your help!
1Password Version: 1Password 6 Version 6.8.9 (689001)
Extension Version: Not Provided

Hello @TheFish! 👋
Thanks for reaching out. If you've previously used an older version of 1Password on your iPhone then you should be able to restore it using the App Store:
- Open the App Store app on your iOS device.
- Tap the sign-in button or your photo at the top of the screen.
- Tap Apps.
- If you use Family Sharing, tap My Apps or choose a family member's name to see content that they purchased.
- Tap "Not on this [device]."
- Find the version of 1Password that you were using, then tap the download button.
Note: the steps might be slightly different on iOS 16 but I don't have an iOS 16 device available.
I did want to mention that 1Password 6 and 7 for iOS and macOS are no longer supported or being updated. I encourage you to use the latest version going forward: Upgrade to 1Password 8

Thank you, Dave. Due to your support I could download 1Password 7 for my iPhone. Unfortunately I'm not able to find my secret key in order to set up the iPhone-app: Neither can I find it in my 1Password app on my Mac nor do I, being a single license-owner, have a 1Password-account to generate a new secret code as mentioned in the support section of your website. And in order to create a 1Password-account I also need to provide my secret key. Could you kindly help me once more?

Dave, from your support site I learned that standalone accounts do not have a secret key. I managed to log in to 1Password 7 on my iPhone by creating a new vault. When I try to synchronize the primary vault on my Mac with the iPhone app via Wi-Fi, the list of Wi-Fi servers remains empty, even though both the Mac and the iPhone are on the same Wi-Fi network. It is therefore not possible to enter the security code from my 1Password 6 Mac app on the iPhone. Therefore, synchronization of the data is not possible. Thank you very much for your help!

The WLAN server in 1Password 6 is complex and depends on many factors, including your network environment and software configuration. This article is a collection of all known solutions for connection problems. https://support.1password.com/wlan-server/

We’re unable to troubleshoot issues with the WLAN server beyond the scope of this article. If you’ve tried everything in the article and are still unable to connect, please consider switching to a more reliable sync method.

Our recommendation is to use a 1Password account moving forward which handles sync automatically.
