Troubleshooting Autofill for Mac login
Hello. When following instructions in 1Password's Universal Autofill article, searching for "Mac login" doesn't find the "Mac User Account Password" item shown in the article. I don't see anything with this icon:
Instead, this is what I see:
I tried using "Mac login password" with the key icon, but I don't know what to put in the URL field to make it match, so I can't get it to autofill. Pressing ⌘\ makes my AppleID login appear which is obviously not what's wanted here...

Hello @starwolf! 👋
I'm sorry that you're not seeing the "Mac Login" item. This is a known issue and our team is currently testing a fix in the beta version of 1Password.
For the time being, you can create a normal Login item and enter your macOS username and password. Then, the first time that you fill that Login item into a macOS system prompt using Universal AutoFill, 1Password will ask you if you'd like to fill your login and will associate that Login item with your macOS login.

Okay, thanks. As suggested, I created a regular login called "Mac login", used it to fill and 1Password has now linked it to my Mac login. That classic Mac icon looks nice. If I can find it somewhere, I'll use it for my makeshift login icon as well.
The only issue now is, its never going to autofill because, for some reason, my AppleID login also gets triggered whenever a local macOS login pops up. I'm guessing apple.com and/or icloud.com URLs appear behind the scenes—even for a local login.

Thanks for the reply! After downloading a copy of the icon that you'd like to use from a search engine or other website, you can add a custom icon to the Login item by editing the item, clicking on the down arrow next to the icon, and then adding the icon.

1Password isn't able to differentiate between a prompt asking for your local Mac password or your Apple Account password which is why Quick Access will present both options and let you choose the correct Login item. 🙂
