Why is 1 Password changing my passwords?
Several times over the past three months when I have tried to log into a particular banking account I have gotten the message that my username or password is not recognized. Upon investigation I have found that the password associated with that account in 1 Password has been changed to a very simple, very vulnerable series of numbers. I have to go into the history of that account to retrieve the correct password and then edit the entry in 1 Password to make it correct again. I don't think the website I am trying access would change the password without my initiating the "change password" process. Why is this happening?

Hello @Mherrcat! 👋
I'm sorry that you're running into trouble when signing into your banking account. 1Password won't change your password without explicit confirmation or action from you. So that I can better understand the situation can you tell me the following:
- If you're using 1Password Families/Team/Business, then is the item located in a shared vault that other people have access to? Or is the item located in your Private vault?
- Is the password always changed to the exact same series of numbers? Or does it differ each time this happens? Do you recognize the numbers or are they random?
- Are you able to share the name of the bank?
I look forward to hearing from you.

- The 1Password account is personal (not shared)
- Random series of six numbers; different each time

Thank you for answering those questions. Since I don't have access to any account logs here on the public forum, I recommend sending an email to
support+forum@1Password.com
so that our support team can look into this further. Make sure to include a link to this thread in your email and use the email address associated with your 1Password account. After emailing in, you'll receive a reply from BitBot, our friendly robot assistant with a Support ID that looks something like [#ABC-12345-678]. Post that here, and I'll be able to locate your message and make sure it's gotten to the right place. 🙂
