Feature idea: Password templates

I frequently log into firewalls and stuff like that, where the 2FA code is entered together with the password in a single field, either as a prefix or as a suffix.

This causes some friction with 1Password:

  • Can't use autofill, as it doesn't include the 2FA code
  • I have to manually bring up the quick search, find the password and copy the 2FA code, then paste it into the password field
  • 1Password always offers to update the password because it thinks it has changed because the 2FA code is in the password field

This could be solved using some simple templates in the password field like this:

my-secret-password{{ 2fa }}

Having templates like this would remove all the friction from this use case.
