S'ok, found the issue, the browser itself had been set to 'not remember' the sites detail that i was trying to manually add to the 1password browser extension!

ok so no moving through the instructions it states to check the manually created login from the previous stage is in the main app, by launching 1Password 3 and checking the web loging appears in the main app, however as i've installed 1Password 4, how do i login to the previous version?

Hi @pcorpe,
i'm unable to manually add a new login, thus i seem stuck between 2 worlds, anyone else had this?
Where are you not able to add a new login, in 1Password 4 or in the browser?
the browser itself had been set to 'not remember' the sites detail that i was trying to manually add to the 1password browser extension!
That shouldn't prevent anything with the extension, that only affects the browser, not the extension.
however as i've installed 1Password 4, how do i login to the previous version?
Did you update 1Password via the Mac App Store? It is not possible to downgrade from there.
Let's try something else instead. Can you email us your diagnostic report, we'll check the report to see if you need to downgrade or not. Often, you don't have to migrate the data as it should be synced already in the main 1Password app.

Hi MikeT, thanks for helping out...
I finally got to add a new login after changing the behaviour of the browser, i've no idea why it worked, but it was the only thing i changed, but no matter least i go further on, now i've manually added a login, but it's not in sync with 1Password 4, i guess cause the browser extension is still version 3. the upgrade was done via the App Store yes. I've tried multiple times to create the diag report, but it never creates a file?0 -
Hi @pcorpe,
I'd like you to try the following:
- Open a Finder window
- Click Go->Go to Folder
- Paste the following:
~/Library/Application Support/1Password 4/
- Click Go
Check for the Diagnostics folder. Inside should be a folder and zip file. Attach the zip file in to an email to us: support@ agilebits .com
Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report in our inbox.
Once we see the report we should be able to better assist you. Thanks in advance!

Hi Megan, I don't seem to have such a folder, infact the only one i do have is a 1Password one, but it appears to be empty

Hi @pcorpe,
Could you download a new copy of the diagnostic tool and see if it'll then generate a new report. We made some improvements there recently.
Let me know how it turns out.

Hi MikeT, sorry i gave up, and trashed the old plugins manually risking the loss of passwords etc, not the best method but at least it got things back to a working state, thanks for the help though.
