Can't Launch Sites From Login List
How unfortunate. Up until 1Pasword 4 it was easy to load 1PW on the Mac and click a saved login to open a site and auto-login. No more. 1Password is appending some sort of hex or utf string to the saved web address, and the result is an endless "loading" situation for the page.
Examples:
Link (working) when clicked from the 1PW Mini:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/yourstore/home?ie=UTF8&ref_=gno_signin&
Link (not working, when clicking the same address from the Mac standalone:
https://www.amazon.com/ap/signin?encoding=UTF8&openid.assoc_handle=usflex&openid.claimed_id=http%3A%2F%2Fspecs.openid.net%2Fauth%2F2.0%2Fidentifier_select&openid.identity=http%3A%2F%2Fspecs.openid.net%2Fauth%2F2.0%2Fidentifier_select&openid.mode=checkid_setup&openid.ns=http%3A%2F%2Fspecs.openid.net%2Fauth%2F2.0&openid.ns.pape=http%3A%2F%2Fspecs.openid.net%2Fextensions%2Fpape%2F1.0&openid.pape.max_auth_age=0&openid.return_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Fgp%2Fyourstore%2Fhome%3Fie%3DUTF8%26ref%3Dgno_signin&onepasswdfill=529826728B8D48ABACFEF760BA43B1A6
No wonder the browser/DNS server chokes, eh?

Same problem here with Version 4.0.1b4 (401004). 1PW Mini works fine from Firefox v24 browser but booting up sites from the Mac application does not work due to appending strings to the login address like above. Seems to work ok if Safari is the main browser.

Same with version Version 4.0.2 (402002) I updated from v3 without looking at all these problems this must be the worst version for problems and I have been using 1password from the start

Hi, guys. I'm sorry for the trouble you're having with Firefox. I'm looking into this issue. I don't have more to share just yet, but I wanted you to know we're working on it. Can you all confirm that this is an issue only in Firefox like @doctormo says?
The onepasswdfill parameter is something you're normally not supposed to see. It's always used for invoking Go & Fill but the extension is supposed to strip it out before you ever see it. So, it's not a bug that it's included, just a bug that you're seeing it. :)
We'll get this fixed as soon as possible, and I'll come back and update this thread when we know more.

Hi, guys. Just another update that I found and fixed this issue. We need to do some internal testing to verify the fix, but it should be in a new release very soon. (We'll have a beta first and then promote it to the stable channel when we confirm the fix.) Thanks for bringing the issue to our attention and for your patience while we work to get the fix out to you.

Looking forward to the fix. Been having trouble with Firefox for a while now, going to beta 4 fixed the last issue but now this problem has crept in.
I do not use the 1P app often except for editing and also use Safari at work so do not run into these problems often.

FYI - Downloaded 4.0.2b1 tonight and the Firefox issue remains.
When I try to go to agilebits site, the web address is http://discussions.agilebits.com/entry/signin?onepasswdfill=47C91EDEB33A17B6DD230ABAE7C0744C which does not go anywhere.

Update - Firefox Browser Beta Extension 4.0.1.b1 seems to have corrected this problem for me.

Fix seems to be working for me on two machines with Firefox so I am good.

Great, thanks for the confirmation!

MikeT, What is the 'fix'? I can't get 1Password 4 to launch any logins from Firefox. I can't find the Firefox Browser Beta Extension 4.0.1.b1? I downloaded the latest Firefox Extension from 1Password 4 (4.0.1-2.xpi)...it is NOT working! Please help--thanks!

Hi Dunkin,
It's already fixed in the stable version, which is now at 4.0.1. So you're all set there. Just to be clear, you click on the URL in the main 1Password app, it opens the site but Firefox hangs on it?
What if you go straight to the website in Firefox first, then press the 1Password icon to fill in, does it work?

Hi MikeT,
My default browser is Safari which is working--no issues. However, when I go to Firefox, nothing happens when I try to access any login from within Firefox. I'm using the Firefox 1Password Extension (4.0.1) icon. I tried your suggestion above--opened one of my login websites in Firefox and then pressed the 1Password icon--it did not work. This is really strange--when I initially downloaded 1Password 4 for Mac on 12 Oct 13--I could launch logins from Firefox and Safari. But, now, only launching from Safari works--Firefox is dead in the water... Do you have any other suggestions?
Thanks,
Dunkin

Hi Dunkin,
Can you describe exactly what didn't work when you tried @MikeT's suggestion? For example, did the site page open but the login details weren't filled? And did you have the same result when trying with different sites? Also, which version of OS X are you current running, did you recently upgrade (e.g. from Mountain Lion to Mavericks), and have you restarted your system since having this problem?
Thanks for the additional information that can help us get this resolved for you!

Hi sjk,
Nothing happens when I press the 1Password icon if I'm using Firefox--the page doesn't even load...it doesn't matter which login I try; I get the same result. I upgraded from Mountain Lion to Mavericks on Thursday, 24 Oct. I'm not sure if I've rebooted since the problems started--will do that now and let you know if that fixes the problem.
Thanks!

Rebooting did not fix the problem...

I'm sorry you're still having trouble with this, Dunkin.
Could you please try uninstalling and reinstalling the 1P4 extension for Firefox to see if that makes any difference? If that doesn't work, please email us a Diagnostics Report so we can better help you resolve this. Instructions are here:
Sending us your Diagnostics Report to help us help you!
Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forum, but please do include a link to this topic in your email so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report in our inbox. Thank you!

I removed the 1P4 Firefox extension and then added it back again--still nothing happens when I click on any of the logins when I'm in Firefox. I just sent my diagnostics report with the link to this discussion page included in the email.

Hi, Dunkin. Thanks for sending the report.
As I mentioned in my email reply, the trouble you're having with 1Password appears to be caused by using a version of Firefox that's not in the /Applications folder. Hopefully using the version in /Applications instead will resolve this issue.
