With 1Password 4.0.2 (website version, OS X 10.8.5), when editing a login and clicking on "password" > "Show password recipe," the number of symbols indicated seems to be erroneous.

Thank you,

David

  • Hi @DavidB,

Can you explain what you mean by seem to be erroneous, the more details you can give us, the quicker we can figure this out.

Doing some tests, am I correct to assume you mean it seem to be maxed out at 2, no matter how many digits you want? If not, let us know what the issue is.

    Thanks!

Sorry I wasn't more specific. By the way, I now see the number of digits is also sometimes wrong.

Example 1: Password has 15 characters (5 letters, 10 digits and no symbols) but recipe says it has 10 digits and 3 symbols. Also, there is no indicator for the number of letters.

Example 2: Password has 16 characters (11 letters, 5 digits and no symbols) but recipe says it has 10 digits and 3 symbols. (Again, no letter indicator.)

Example 3: Password has 24 characters (8 letters, 8 digits and 8 symbols) but recipe says it has 10 digits and 3 symbols. (Again, no letter indicator.)

    Hi @DavidB,

Thanks for confirming that for us! I've passed this information along to our tech gurus, we'll see what we can do about getting this feature behaving properly again :)
