Question about licenses

I'd like to use 1Password 4 on both my Macbooks, using Dropbox to synch between them (which is what I'm doing with 1Password3 now, which I think I accomplished via migration assistant, since the same license number appears on the two apps). I have the trial version installed on both Mac's right now, but do I buy one license for both Macbooks or do I have to buy the "family" license? I downloaded the app from the Agile Bits website, if that makes a difference. Thanks.

Our software is licensed per person per platform. Each user and each platform requires a license.

So yes, you can use one single user license on all your Macs. Only if there will be different users do you need a family license.

Excellent, thank you! (Although, I think that at this point, I'm probably going to stick with version 3, which seems more stable.)

@Fantine1021 You're welcome! I started using 1Password 4 during the beta, and I've always found it to be quite stable. Is there a specific problem that you're having?

I personally haven't experienced any issues with ver. 4, but I'm reading a lot of complaints from people, and I'm not sure that the new features in ver. 4 are worth the risk and the money, as long as ver. 3 is still supported.

  • HI @fantine1021,

Most of the issues are related to the sandboxing issues in the Mac App Store version of 1Password, we're working on fixing them as fast as we can. Apple doesn't allow anybody to offer beta testing through Mac App Store, which is why there are some bugs we need to resolve after the app was released first.

It shouldn't be long before we fix most of the sandboxing issues.
